When you go back into the rink when it re-opens you will no doubt think 'it does not look very different and why did it take so long ?
When I first went to the rink it was demolition time and most of the barriers had been demolished. Unfortunately I did not have a camera with me at the time so there are no photographs of that.
This time I had a camera and as you can see the barriers are back - well almost.

No ice and no plexi glass   The barrier is back on the left of the Ice   and on the right

The new gate as you enter the rink from the foyer. to strengthen the door pillars they are adding reinforcing bars horizontally and vertically

these are the new door pillars   and after the concrete is added this is what its like

They had to take the back off the barrier at the top of the rink   to tighten the bolts to re-tension and straighten the barrier.   new electric feeds are being added

hard at work   The corroders are being re-painted.
For those who remember the rink years (and years ago) they will remember the pits where the ice was emptied.
These are now filled in in concrete.

Did you know we have two ice cleaning machines?
So now you know what they are doing.

I'll up date this with more pics soon
This is what is under the 'snow tank'   bet you had never seen that before
